Ratzia® Pellets is a ready-to-use pellet bait for the safe control of Norway rats indoors and outdoors (in and around buildings) and house mice indoors and outdoors (in and around buildings).
Mode of action:
The active ingredient brodifacoum belongs to the group of anticoagulants. It reduces the blood’s ability to clot and leads to internal bleeding. To kill rodents, it may be sufficient to ingest a sufficient quantity of the bait once. The effect usually takes about 3-15 days. Ratzia pellets contain a bitter substance that makes the product unpalatable to humans and pets, thus reducing the risk of accidental ingestion.
Application:
For expert or professional users only. Before applying bait, determine the rodent species, preferred locations and cause of infestation and assess the extent of the infestation. Remove easily accessible food sources and drinking troughs (e.g. spilled grain, food waste).
Place the product in the immediate vicinity where rodents have previously been observed (e.g. rodent paths, nesting sites, feeding sites, holes, burrows). Protect bait from the weather (e.g. snow, rain) and do not place in areas that are subject to flooding. Replace soiled or water-damaged bait. Search the affected area for dead rodents during each inspection visit and dispose of them properly.
Bait stations must be used. A design without tamper-proof bait stations is only permitted in areas that are not accessible to children and non-target animals (e.g. closed cable routes, pipes, cavities in walls). Do not use the product for permanent baiting.
Around buildings: Do not apply product directly into the soil (e.g. in rodent burrows or holes).
Application rate:
Place bait in tamper-proof bait stations or as described above.
- Norway rats: max. 200 g per bait station at a distance of 5-10 m
- House mouse: 20-50 g per bait station at a distance of 2-3 m
Safety and behavioral instructions:
Before use, read and follow the label, instruction sheet and all information provided during purchase. Place product out of reach of children, birds, pets, livestock and other non-target animals. Prevent contact of the product with food, beverages, animal feed, kitchen utensils and preparation surfaces.
Do not eat, drink or smoke when using the product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after use. Wear suitable protective gloves (e.g. HYGOSTAR® NITRIL PROFESSIONAL 0.4 mm) or use tools such as tongs when handling the product, collecting bait residues and disposing of carcasses.
Do not allow bait residues or empty containers and packs to enter bodies of water or drains. If bait is placed near bodies of water, ensure that contact of the bait with water is prevented. The bait is dangerous for wild animals.
