Product description

Ratzia® Bait BC is a ready-to-use cereal bait (granules) for the safe control of Norway rats and house mice. The product is intended for use indoors and outdoors around buildings. It contains a bittering agent that reduces its edibility for humans and pets.

Mode of action

The active ingredient brodifacoum belongs to the group of anticoagulants. It inhibits the blood’s ability to clot and leads to internal bleeding. As a rule, the effect occurs after approx. 4-10 days; a single intake of a sufficient quantity may be sufficient to kill the rodents.

Application

Application may only be carried out by trained professional users. Before applying the bait, the rodent species, preferred locations, cause of infestation and extent of infestation must be determined.

Preparations

• Remove easily accessible food sources and drinking opportunities (e.g. spilled grain, food waste) as far as possible.
• Place bait in the immediate vicinity where rodents have been observed (e.g. rodent paths, nesting sites, feeding sites, holes, burrows).
• Protect bait from the weather (snow, rain) and do not place it in areas that can be flooded.

Implementation

• Bait stations must be used. A design without tamper-proof bait stations is only permitted in areas that are not accessible to children and non-target animals (e.g. closed cable routes, pipelines, substructures of electrical cabinets/high-voltage cabinets, cavities in walls and wall paneling).
• Replace bait if it is soiled or damaged by water.
• At the start of baiting, check the bait points at least after the 5th day and then weekly.
• Search the affected area for dead rodents during each inspection visit and dispose of them properly.

Important notes

• Do not use the product for permanent baiting.
• Around buildings: Do not lay the product directly in the ground (e.g. in rodent burrows or holes).
• Only use the information provided and strictly adhere to the instructions for use.
