Ratzia® 3G Wheat Bait contains the active ingredient difethialone and is intended for the control of Norway rats, house rats and house mice by professional users. The product is classified as a rodenticide and can cause serious damage to health if swallowed.

Product description

Ready-to-use bait based on wheat. The delayed effectiveness (4-10 days) prevents conspecifics from becoming suspicious. Bitter substances make the bait unpalatable for humans and pets, but only reduce the risk of accidental ingestion.

Target organisms, areas of application and bait quantities

  • Target organisms: Norway rat/house rat, house mouse
  • Area of application: Indoors and outdoors around buildings (protect bait from the weather; do not place in areas at risk of flooding)
  • Bait quantity per bait point: Norway rat/house rat: up to 200 g; house mice: up to 50 g

Typical distances between bait points

  • Norway rat / house rat – heavy infestation: 4-5 m; low infestation: 8-10 m
  • House mice – heavy infestation: 1-1.5 m; low infestation: 2-3 m

Instructions for use

Read all product information before use. Use only as part of an integrated pest control program together with hygiene measures and, if necessary, physical methods. Identify rodent species, locations and cause of infestation and assess the extent of infestation. Preferably place bait in tamper-proof bait stations or concealed in places inaccessible to children and non-target animals.

  • Bait stations must be mechanically stable, tamper-proof and labeled (e.g. “do not move or open”, product and active ingredient name, emergency number).
  • Do not open the sachets containing the bait; place the bait in the bait station with the dosing aid.
  • Outdoors: Protect bait from the weather; do not place bait in the soil (e.g. nests).
  • Once baiting is complete, remove all bait and dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Safety measures

Attention: Rodenticide. Ingestion can lead to serious damage to health. This product contains an anticoagulant; symptoms (including delayed symptoms) may include nosebleeds, bleeding gums, bruising and blood in the stool or urine. Antidote: Vitamin K1 (only administered by medical/veterinary professionals).

In the event of an incident, call the poison control center: 0049 30 192 40.

Storage

Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep packaging closed, do not expose to direct sunlight. Store product out of reach of children, birds, pets and livestock. Keep away from food, drink and animal feed.

Documentation and inspection intervals

  • Before and during baiting, keep documentation on the location, target, products used (product and quantity) and person carrying out the baiting; keep records for at least 5 years.
  • Check bait sites at least after the 5th day and weekly thereafter (also applies to measures >35 days).
  • Replace eaten bait and document bait intake; check location or formulation if intake is low.
  • If bait continues to be consumed after 35 days and no reduction in activity is apparent, check for possible resistance and consider alternative measures.

Risk mitigation measures

Do not use in areas where resistance is suspected. Do not use products for longer than 35 days without checking. Use bait stations; only place in inaccessible cavities without a tamper-proof station. If dead rodents are found, use gloves or tools and dispose of properly to avoid secondary poisoning.

Other notes

The product may only be used by competent users in accordance with the relevant regulations. Inform clients and affected employees about hazards, first aid measures, disposal and preventive measures.
