Product description

Cyracid 2.0 is a larvicide with the active ingredient cyromazine for controlling fly larvae in stable areas. Due to the mechanism of action, the control effect is delayed; the effectiveness starts from the second week and can last up to ten weeks.

Area of application

For indoor use on uncompacted manure or other excrements in stables of the following farm animals: Dairy cows, cattle, calves, pigs (individual and group housing, fattening pigs), laying hens (floor housing, large cages), Broilers, turkeys, ducks, geese, rabbits, horses, goats, sheep and minks. For use by professional users only.

Application methods and dosage

  • Low pressure spraying: Application rate 25 g/m² (undiluted product, granules). To treat 10 m²: Dissolve 250 g of product in a little water and fill to a final volume of 1-4 L (depending on the moisture content of the substrate). Add the product, add about half of the calculated amount of water, stir well, then add the remaining amount of water. Stir briefly before use. Use on the same day.
  • Watering with a watering can: Proceed as for spraying. Application rate 25 g/m² (undiluted granules). Dilution: 250 g/10 m² in 1-4 L final volume, depending on the degree of moisture.
  • Spreading the dry granules by hand: Apply directly to areas where fly larvae are developing. Do not apply to dried manure or manure with a dried surface. For dry manure, use only spraying or watering. Application rate: 25 g/m² (direct application of the granules).

Number and time of application

Initial treatment ideally shortly after cleaning the stable (1-3 days after mucking out) or directly before the start of the fly season. Application during the season is also possible. Due to the mechanism of action of cyromazine, the effect is delayed. If necessary, treatments can be repeated if fly larvae reappear. For the maximum number of applications, the application-specific guidelines apply (see below).

Application-specific instructions and maximum application frequencies

Spray only downwards and with a low-pressure Knapsack sprayer. Wear sturdy shoes/boots during application. Only one of the specific application methods (spraying, pouring or scattering the granules) is permitted, in each case with the specified maximum frequency of application per year.

Cattle farming (pens or loose housing: dairy cows, beef cattle, calves)

  • Apply in a 50 cm wide strip along walls and under/next to technical installations. First treatment 1-3 days after mucking out, as soon as manure starts to accumulate again.
  • Spraying/watering: max. 5 applications/year for dairy cows; max. 4 applications/year for cattle and calves.
  • Spreading the granules: max. 4 applications/year for dairy cows; max. 2 applications/year for cattle and calves.

Cattle farming on grid floors

  • Apply in a 50 cm wide strip along walls as well as under and next to technical installations. Liquid manure can be treated directly with the granules. In stables with slatted floors, treat the entire surface evenly.
  • Spraying/watering: max. 5 applications/year for dairy cows; max. 4 applications/year for cattle and calves.
  • Spreading the granules: max. 4 applications/year for dairy cows; max. 2 applications/year for cattle and calves.

Pigs (sows in individual stalls, group housing, fattening pigs)

  • Apply in a 50 cm wide strip along walls and under and next to technical installations.
  • Spraying/watering: maximum 2 applications per year.
  • Spreading the granules: maximum 1 application per year.

Poultry (laying hens, broilers, breeding chickens)

  • Broilers in floor housing with litter or on a grid floor, broilers in floor housing or rearing on a grid floor, laying hens in cages or floor housing with litter: apply to the entire surface. First application approx. 1 week after mucking out, before a manure layer of 10 cm forms.
  • Laying hens in floor housing with grid floor: Treat areas under nests and feed troughs. Only spray or watering application permitted. Maximum 1 application/year.
  • Turkeys, ducks, geese: apply to the entire area; spraying, watering or scattering: maximum 5 applications/year.

Rabbit

  • Treat the entire area under the cages approx. 3 days after arrival of the animals. Spraying, watering or direct scattering: maximum 5 applications/year.

Horses

  • Apply in a 50 cm wide strip along walls as well as under and next to technical installations. Best results in non-compacted bedding areas. First treatment preferably 1-3 days after mucking out.
  • Spraying/watering: maximum 4 applications/year. Spreading the granules: maximum 2 applications/year.

Important notes

  • For dry manure, use only spraying or watering; do not apply granules to dried manure or manure with a dried surface.
  • Mix the product before use and use up on the same day.
  • Only use one of the three types of application (spraying, watering, sprinkling); the respective maximum frequency of application per year must not be exceeded.
