It is available as a liquid concentrate and is suitable for disinfecting surfaces in animal husbandry; the product is effective against bacteria, yeasts and viruses. <\/p>\n<h2>Application and dosage<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong> Wet disinfection (spraying)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Concentration \/ contact time \/ temperature:<\/strong> 2.9 % \/ 30 minutes \/ 10 \u00b0C<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application quantity:<\/strong> 100 ml application solution per m\u00b2<\/p>\n<p>Disinfect Iodine is used for surface disinfection in poultry, cattle and pig stables. Always read the label and product information before use and follow all instructions. <\/p>\n<h3>Frequency of use per year<\/h3>\n<p>Recommended number of applications per year (depending on animal species and husbandry):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dairy cows: 1<\/li>\n<li>Beef cattle: 1<\/li>\n<li>Fattening calves: 4<\/li>\n<li>Sows in individual pens: 5<\/li>\n<li>Sows in group housing: 5<\/li>\n<li>Fattening pigs: 3<\/li>\n<li>Laying hens in battery cages without treatment: 1<\/li>\n<li>Laying hens in battery cages with ventilation (belt drying): 1<\/li>\n<li>Laying hens in battery cages with forced drying (manure pit, high ascent): 1<\/li>\n<li>Laying hens in compact battery cages: 1<\/li>\n<li>Free-range laying hens with scattered floor (partly scattered floor, partly slatted floor): 1<\/li>\n<li>Free-range broilers with litter floor: 7<\/li>\n<li>Free-range laying hens with grid floor (aviary system): 1<\/li>\n<li>Free-range broiler parent stock with grid floor: 1<\/li>\n<li>Broiler parent stock reared on a grid floor: 3<\/li>\n<li>Free-range turkeys with litter floor: 2<\/li>\n<li>Free-range ducks with litter floor: 13<\/li>\n<li>Free-range geese with litter floor: 6<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application method<\/h2>\n<p>Indoors; open system: spraying. Disinfectant for hard surfaces in stables (except in hatcheries). Spraying of diluted concentrate with a backpack sprayer (4-7 bar).  <\/p>\n<p>Preparation of the application solution: Mix 29 ml Disinfect Iodine with 971 ml water to obtain 1 liter of application solution. Always add water first and then carefully stir in the product. Use a maximum of 100 ml of application solution per m\u00b2 of treated surface. Do not prepare more liquid than absolutely necessary.   <\/p>\n<p>Disinfect Iodine may only be used in empty (unoccupied) stables after thorough surface cleaning with a suitable cleaning agent. Pre-cleaning is absolutely essential. Rinse or wipe the surfaces that are to be treated afterwards. Allow to dry for 24 to 36 hours before disinfecting in order to obtain earth-moist surfaces. Thoroughly soak systems and equipment with a thin layer of the prepared solution by spraying with suitable equipment (4 to 7 bar). During the process and for the duration of the contact time (at least 30 minutes), all openings must be closed and the ventilation switched off.     <\/p>\n<h2>Risk mitigation measures<\/h2>\n<p>Keep out of the reach of children. The bottle shape is designed to minimize the risk of splashes to reduce eye and skin contact during dilution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safety equipment during mixing and loading phase (mandatory):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Face protection \/ tight-fitting safety goggles (EN 166); emergency eye showers should be available in the immediate vicinity<\/li>\n<li>Protective gloves (EN 374), nitrile rubber, acid-resistant protective gloves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Safety equipment during application (spraying) of the ready-to-use solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chemical-resistant protective gloves (EN 374); protective glove manufacturer KCL GmbH, e-mail: <a href=\"mailto:vertrieb@kcl.de\">vertrieb@kcl.de,<\/a> is cited as an example<\/li>\n<li>Protective suit that is impermeable (EN 340, EN 13034)<\/li>\n<li>Use new gloves for each work shift<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Professionals should not disinfect animal housing more than three times a month. These professionals should not use iodine products for additional purposes. Use only one type of iodine-containing product per day. Stable disinfection should not be carried out more than once a year or once during the lifetime of calves and pigs. Feed troughs must be covered during application.    <\/p>\n<h2>Storage<\/h2>\n<p>Store at room temperature, protected from direct sunlight and in opaque containers. Protect from frost.
